A.        Approval of Minutes

Jan opened the meeting and thanked all for attending.  

B.        Current Business

It had been reported to the NHW that there had been this month:

1 – Break-in

1 – Suspicious Car

Circulated through Chris Poole of the Neighbourhood Watch, Orihuela Costa

1.          2 – Calls supposable from the Police:

a.  1^st call gave information that some one in the house was threatening or had killed someone.

b.  2^nd call saying they now knew who you are and where you live etc. leading to blackmail and threatening phone calls.

2.       Murcia airport:   (thieves targeting incoming passengers).   Reported that passenger picked up hire car, drove to the first roundabout and was hit in the back of the car.  Pulled over to investigate and was robbed of cash, passports and bank cards.   Similar events have been reported at Alicante airport.

3.       <---- this symbol has been seen on the roads in a number of areas could be a new sign being used by robbers.  2 seen at La Zenia area,  but be aware could be made by the council or children especially after last Mondays Tonight program.

C.        A.O.B.      

1.         A break-in reported to the NHW.  This time the thieves managed to drill out the locks to gain entry.

2.         For British Passport Enquiries:  tele: 807 42 90 26  between 09.00 and 17.30  this service is now provided by ABTRAN.  Calls cost 1.09€ per minute.  Please note that this number only works from within Spain.

3.         Jan and Jacqueline passed on updated details for the NHW to Pat for the Dream Hills website.

4.         Playa Flamenca police at 6.50am last Wednesday stopped and searched a Seat Ibiza.   During the search 30 kilos of Hashish was found in the car.  Needless to say the occupants are now on holiday in prison for the near future.

5.         We have a further 4 new coordinators:    Brian Cordery,  Jan Emsley, Gordon Miller and Carol Kerry.

It is requested where possible for all coordinators to attend our monthly meetings.  So that we can exchange information between us.   Thank you.
