Jan opened the meeting, welcomed everyone and gave apologies.

Jan has received a fax (via e-mail to Kath) from the Chief of Police, requesting information on Jane Batoose formerly from La Florida but now thought to be staying on Dream Hills, in connection with domestic incidents.  Should anyone have information on this person, please contact Jan.

A set of keys attached to a blue foam ‘P’ has been lost.  Any information to Jan, please.

Jan has received a good response to her request for reliable tradesmen.  Further recommendations to Jan, please.

Roger Hooton advised of a break-in to his car (at the reservoir), and of the process for getting window replaced.

Reference the Orihuela Costa NHW quarterly meeting at the Ayuntamiento on 19 January, Chris Poole was invited to join National NHW, which he declined but will reconsider at a later date should the Minister of the Environment supports it.  He has also asked for a meeting with the Mayor regarding this.  Chris also reported an increase in pick-pocket incidents at local Supermarkets.

Jan reiterated the need for extra vigilance now that builders are back on site and also reiterated the following from previous Minutes:

*             There appears to be some confusion about where to make reports to the Police should the Orihuela Costa office (in the Ayuntamiento by Mercadona) be closed.  The office to go to is TORRE  DE LA HORADADA which off the N332 to the left, towards the coast.  One or two people have recently been to Torrevieja and to Pilar de la Horadada.  Neither of these Police Offices deal with Denuncias for our area.  Jan reiterated the fact that when telephoning the Police or visiting Police Offices, it is important to state DREAM HILLS VECINOS COLABORANDO.  There is an Interpreter (free of charge) in attendance at Torre de la Horadada Police Office during the summer months only.  However, we understand that the lady lives fairly
near to the Police Office, and they will call her in at other times if required, but there will be a charge for her services.

The following reports have been received by Gerald since the last meeting:

1.                    Handbag snatched off lady’s shoulder during the evening; thief escaped in car.

2.                    Handbag ‘fished’ through window of No.342 – window and shutter left open.

3.                    Attempted theft from No.356 – 5am.  Occupant in house, saw arm appear through window.

Shopping bag mistakenly left on roof of car (not stolen).  Found and returned to owner.

Old photographs found – do not appear to be English.

For personal reasons we are unable to hold the next meeting in March.  However, Jan, Gerald/Denise or Kath are available should anyone need assistance in the meantime.

Thanks to Pat Hooton for taking notes (in Kath’s absence from the meeting, due to illness).

Date of next meeting:            Thursday, 21 April 2005, at 18.00 hrs. at La Casita.
