A warning of car break-ins and thefts, at many golf courses in the area. Please take care.
C. Crime in Dream Hills.
1. As we have not been notified personally of any crime this month in Dream Hills. We take it that there has been none.
2. Lady had damage to garden furniture near casita. Perpetrators are known to Guards and Police. Will be caught in the act eventually.
3. Report of a car windscreen been broken at the bottom of the main road. We have no more information on this.
4. Please be aware of a black Opal Astra with three Mediterranean males cruising the area.
D. Circulated through Chris Poole of the Neighbourhood Watch, Orihuela Costa1. House breaking where coin collection stolen.
3 or 4 January, 2009 during the night. Javea area.
Stolen: - Coin collection including several American silver dollars contained in a two part black and red rucksack zipped together with "Ideal Sport" on the outside.
Should anyone see this collection possibly for sale please contact your local Police.
2. Credit and Bank Card thefts. Customer paid for meal in a restaurant with card and received receipt wrapped around the card. Later found that it was not his but an old expired card for someone else.
Customer paid for a take away meal with card. Whilst waiting for the receipt the card was placed on the counter and the cashier used his mobile phone which then made a sound that a phone makes when it has taken a photo. A photo had been made of the card.
This is a summary of an e-mail received and may not have been from Spain. However, it shows the importance of being very careful when using Bank or Credit Cards. If cards have been stolen, copied or thought to have been copied, cancel immediately.
E. Any Other Business
1. We wish to thank Nina, who was able to translate the minutes into Spanish for us these last couple of months. Thank you Nina. We all wish you and your family well.
2. Due to a vehicle break-in in Torrevieja, a Dream Hills resident lost a lot of documents that were at the time in the car. Please report any crime to your nearest police station where crime was committed.
