 A.       Approval of Minutes

Jan opened the meeting and thanked all for attending.  

B.        Current Business

Four requests from Jesus, Chief of Police, for assistance in looking for vehicles in crime.    But before getting details out, have been informed that these had been sighted and apprehended.

Also counterpart of driving licence found (lady in Newcastle).   Cards and sterling found (lady in Wigan).   All returned to rightful owners.

C.                Crime in Dream hills.

We are happy to announce that there has been no reported crime to us since the last minutes.#

D.        Circulated through Chris Poole of the Neighbourhood Watch, Orihuela Costa

1.         Stolen Silver Ford Focus 4779 FRW.   Villa Martin area believed to have been part of a robbery.    Contact Police 112 if seen.

2.         Car stolen:     Iria 4 grey Seat 7894 GBY again if seen contact police as above.

3          Neighbours saw 2 men park a car in the pool area of urbanization and walk down a nearby path.   One neighbor shouted to them and they ran off and were confronted by another neighbour. He was assaulted several times with a truncheon before they escaped.

2 males, possible Spanish or Eastern European in early 20's, (1) 6'3" (1.90 m), thin build (2) 5'4" (1.62m) stocky build.    Dark blue Fiat Punto reg No 8100 FYX Goldcar Hire Car.  If seen, do not approach but inform the Police immediately.

4.         House robbed and car stolen    Catral 3.11.08 at 5 a.m.   Beige Mercedes C220 car reg No 5832 FHY If seen please contact the Police immediately.

5.         Car used in crime. Seen over the weekend 18 - 19 October, 2008 Villa Martin area.  Small dark blue or black small car could be a Renault Migane or Peugeot 206 or 207   Over the weekend there have been a number of houses broken into in this area and late on Saturday evening a man was robbed of his shoulder bag by three dark skinned men. The above car was seen in the area at the times that crimes were committed with three similar described men.  On the night of the 20th three men were seen trying to break into a house. It is assumed that it was the same car and thieves involved in all the incidents.

If seen do not interfere but inform the Police immediately as they are aware of these incidents and details.

6.         Car used in crime.  Res Las Violetas, Villa Martín, Orihuela Costa 9.11.08 in the evening.    Thieves disturbed breaking into a house. Left scene in Maroon Ford car possibly a Fiesta Reg No 1968 FPT.    If seen, do not disturb but contact the Police immediately on 112.

7.         Suspicious car.  Las Ramblas Golf, Orihuela Costa Seen three times in the last 14 days.  Circling the area slowly with three North Africans inside.   Maroon BMW Series 7, If seen in suspicious circumstances contact the Police on 112.

            Clean up the Costa Campaign   this campaign will probable go on for the next 2 to 3 years, as it will take time to change peoples attitudes to litter.   A Grand Litter Pickup is organized each month at different locations.   Should you wish to participate please contact 965 319 660 (English) or 965 328 190 (Multilingual) or email cleanupthecosta@gmail.com

E.        Any Other Business

1.         The British Consulate in Alicante, together with the Department for Work and Pensions, have had a series of open events in the Alicante and Murcia areas to discuss issues that matter to the majority of British residents.

2.         New house No’s Re: Emergency Services please know your bloque no. (That will be the nearest blue tile with a number on it on your side of the street, displayed on the main road.)    If you need to ring 112    Tell them your area first, Torrevieja/Orihuela Costa.   The area that you live in, then the street, bloque no. door no.       112 is a call centre in Madrid, and Dream Hills is of no use at all to them.

3.         It was agreed by all the coordinators that the monthly meetings of the N.H.W. would be held in the 2nd or 3rd week of the month, so that the crime figures could be handed over to Manfred to collate for the end of each month.

4.         Praetorian Guard still on the beat as deterrent to likelihood of crime being committed.  Well done guys it makes Dream Hills a nicer place to live, and your presence has gone a long way to help Dream Hills in becoming the dream again and not the scream.

5.                  Parents we would like to bring it to your attention to always make your children aware of “Stranger Danger”.

6.                  Christmas has come around again.   Thieves will be on look out for your gifts.   Please do not leave out boxes that you purchase these in, make sure that doors and windows are locked.  Also be careful when leaving supermarkets and putting goods into your vehicles, this is the time when thieves will strike.

Jan thanked all at the meeting for their time and help given freely to the Neighbourhood Watch.
