This is my favourite market. Iit is full of Spanish people buying their vegetables and is less geared to tourists

On leaving Dreamhill, by the bottom exit, turn left towards the toll road. Pass around the roundabout under the toll road and head towards San Miguel and Orihuela. This road passes through the edge of San Miguel de Salinas and you will need to turn off to enter the town. We use the last exit (The one at the top of the map linked below) which brings you onto the main street. Park in one of the side streets around Quevedo (No 70 on the map) and the market is around the area of Plaza Jaime 1 (No 90 on the map)

Once you are in the right area it is easy to find by walking towards the people who are carrying plastic bags

Torrevieja has a large market of around 1200 stalls, located in the street called Salinero Calle

Leave the N332 at the "Park of Nations" exit. Turn right to go into Torrevieja, but at the next roundabout (only 50 yards) turn left. You will pass the old windmill that has lost its sails and come to a set of traffic light, with a petrol station on your left, on the old Alicante road that leads up to the obelisk. The market starts in the streets right in front of you

Either turn left onto the old Alicante road and park, or cross it and turn off into the side streets to look for a parking space

I always find Torrevieja market somewhat threatening and suggest that you keep a firm hand on your wallet

This is probably the most popular market for people from Dreamhills because of its close proximity. I find it rather expensive and very geared to tourists. It is on one very long road, that is closed off for the purpose of holding the market, so it does involve quite a long walk

Leave Dreamhills by the top exit, at Via Park III, and turn left towards Consum supermarket. Halfway to Consum, turn right by the rubbish bins, and follow this road for about 2 miles

The road becomes a dual carriageway and eventually ends at a crossroads. The left would take you to Mercadona supermarket and the N332, straight across would take you to Via Park II. The market starts immediately on the street to your right

Try to park on the side of the road before you reach the crossroads, taking the last space that you can before all the parks are taken. If you do end up at the crossroads turn around and take the first vacant space on your way back

This is my second favorite market. It is easy to park, has a wide range of goods, toilets on site, although it is very geared to the British and can be a bit daunting to find, the first time

About 200 yards after the roundabout take the right turn to Los Montesinos, and pass the enterance to La Florentilles camp site, on your left.

Follow this pleasant road for about 2 miles until you come to a junction to the left signposted to Orihuela, turn left. After about 500 metres this road comes to a "T" junction, turn right. You will pass through the small village of Perez, with a large Tabisam (builders merchants) on your left

After leaving Perez you will come to a roundabout, cross straight over and pass under the toll road. Follow this road for about 2 miles, passed the entrance to Greenlands Golf club on your right, and you will see the market of your left

The entrance is busy with cars turning in and is difficult to miss. There is endless parking
