CONVERSION OF COMMUNITY ANALOGUE TELEVISION SIGNAL.

As part of our commitment to improved communications, we wish to advise the following.  Under Spanish law, Royal Decree 401 dated April 4, 2003 and Order CTE 1296 dated May 14, 2003, modified by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce Order ITV 1077 dated April 6, 2006, it is compulsory for all urbanisations to convert their existing communal Spanish television analogue transmission systems to digital by the 3rd of April 2010.  After this date, all television transmissions in Spain will be digital only.  Although this was discussed briefly in a committee meeting in March 2007, since then nothing has been done to progress matters and address the relevant costs.  Part of the urbanisation has already been converted to accept these digital signals but several receivers remain to be changed.  The elected officers and administrators are obtaining competitive quotes at the moment.  The changes to Spanish digital will not interfere with any existing television systems you have at the moment, but will greatly improve the quality of the Spanish reception and allow connection to the Spanish ‘freeview’ TDT system.

The cost of this conversion will entail a one-off charge to each and every household of approx. 20 euro.  This will be added to the annual community fee levied at the next AGM and collected in the normal way.  As we have no option this charge does not require AGM approval, this information is being relayed to you simply to keep you informed and up-to-date.

President and Committee.

A COPY OF THIS INFORMATION HAS BEEN PLACED IN EVERY POST BOX ON THE URBANISATION.
