Matters arising.
The minutes of the meeting of 20th December 2008 were approved.
1) Bad Debt. Although we have had some success with our continuous efforts in pursuing debtors, there are still too many outstanding Urbanisation fees not paid for this year alone. Some of the long term debts consisting of around 20 properties, many of which are now bank- repossessions, are now in the hands of the courts. This is a long drawn-out process, as the courts in Spain are well in arrears, but eventually we should get some of the monies owing awarded back to the Urbanisation together with costs.
This year’s debtors will receive another letter explaining the importance of paying their dues and the consequences if they fail to do so.
2) Spanish digital changeover. We will shortly be sending to ever postbox information on the changeover of the urbanisations analogue aerials to digital. This is law and it has to be implemented in the next financial year. The information will also be posted on all 3 notice boards and on the website, so as many owners as possible are aware of this change.
3) Green areas. A request has been made to the Town Hall to find out when the planting of trees in the green areas will continue, as it was abandoned last summer. Also the administrators will write on our behalf to the Town Hall about the lack of cleaning of the public street by La Casita, and the repair & non-emptying of bins by the children’s play area and in the green areas.
4) Speed. Many residents are angry at the speed that some drivers’ drive their cars down the private residential roads. There are many young children at risk, who are difficult to see because of parked cars.
PLEASE THINK OF CHILDREN & THE ELDERLY and SLOW DOWN.
5) Postal address changes. We are still receiving complaints over the postal address changes. We posted the list of changes and blue tile number on the notice boards in the 2nd week of January. But we are still being informed of incidences at the Correos and at the town hall that conflicts with this. We have checked with the town Hall 3 times now and have had it confirmed 3 times that the list we have given you is correct. We cannot do more than this. If you have been told differently then it is up to you challenge it. The list is repeated below.
Relation of house numbers to blue tiles

6) GENERAL INFORMATION. Information from the Town Hall is that we should be getting an outgoing post box soon. No date or site as yet given, we have been told this for 4yrs now, so believe it when you see it!
A new refuse company called SIFU will be taking over from Colsur in May 2009. In the meantime we have asked that the bins that have disappeared from the main road to be returned. Plans are underway for a new Eco-park to be sited at Campoamor. The Police in Orihuela Costa are to be granted a Grua (tow-away) vehicle. They have not possessed one up to now, so be careful in the future as they will now be able to tow- away anything they consider illegally parked.
7) Vandalism. For some months we have been plagued by teenage youths causing problems on Dream Hills, particularly but not exclusively, around the La Casita area. Damage to private and urbanisation property, stone throwing, graffiti, etc., and abuse of the children’s play-area. Also, the white marble stones are being removed from various planters and used as ‘ammunition.’ Most of these youths do not live on Dream Hills but come from other urbanisations nearby and cause trouble. The security guards in the month of December alone dealt with some 18 incidences relating to youth problems. Now with the cooperation of owners, the security guards and the police, some of these offenders have been identified and their parents have been visited by the Police. The police have told them not to return to the urbanisation. The situation is now being carefully monitored. If you see anybody causing damage call the police immediately.
Meeting concluded at 1420hrs.
Date of next meeting 28th February
Next Surgeries 12 noon on 7th February & 7th March.
