MINUTES OF DREAM HILLS URBANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT LA CASITA ON FRIDAY, 28th JULY 2006 AT 10.00am

Present : Stefan, Anna Rosa ( Administrator ) Tid, Peter Hemming, Chris, Jeff, John, Angela and Marie-Carmen. Apologies : Mags, Linda and Peter Fraser.

Stefan welcomed Marie-Carmen to the committee. She will represent the new phase along with Peter Fraser.

A letter of resignation from Mags Harris, due to ill health, was read out and she will be thanked officially for her hard work. Many people will be sorry she has had to leave and she will be greatly missed. At the moment, Stefan will take over Mags’s duties.

1. . The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed.

2. Control and use of La Casita.

The committee voted to reverse the “no profit” rule on the use of the Casita, as people have requested to use it for various classes. Anyone wishing to use the Casita must still approach Linda Sims with their request. If she is not available another member of the committee will take details.

3. I.D. Badges for vice-presidents.

Stefan has now issued the vice-presidents with their I. D. badges

4. Maintenance progress on swimming pools.

Maintenance on the gardens surrounding the swimming pools is unsatisfactory. Stefan to terminate the gardener’s contract and employ someone else who will be given a detailed list of his duties. The gardens are separate to the swimming pool maintenance.

Top pool broken ladder has been removed and will be replaced ASAP. Stefan is investigating a complaint on pool cleanliness.

5. Environmental issues.

Cockroaches.

The main roads have been sprayed by the council and our private roads were sprayed at a cost of approx 300 euro. The work was supervised by Stefan.

It was agreed that this spraying will take place annually during the months of April/May.

We will also request spraying the caterpillars in the pine trees, especially near the pools areas, annually around the month of March.

Recreation area in front of new phase.

Stefan was asked when the work would start and if, for the time being, we could have a fence installed to surround the land to prevent tipping. Anna Rosa and Stefan will speak to the builder.

Tree Removal.

A tree which is situated at the top of the Dream Hills site is to be cut back.

Street cleaning.

The street cleaners are not cleaning all the streets. Anna Rosa was asked to investigate.

Builders’ Rubbish.

Chris pointed out that many householders having building work done do not act responsibly, by ensuring builders clear the mess, especially concrete left to dry on the roads. The environment team will report offenders and action will need to be taken.

6. Mailbox Keys Update.

The total cost for the mailbox door locks and keys was 1010 euro, including IVA.

The request for doors on mailboxes in the new phase will be brought up again at next years A.G.M.

7. AOB.

The road between Urb Inspiration and Dream Hills.

The chains we put up are being ignored and the residents of Inspiration are still parking on our private road. Anna Rosa will produce a note to these residents informing them that this is not allowed. This will be an on-going issue for some time to come.

Main Road

Anna Rosa to re-apply for a roundabout outside Via Park 3 on the main road. We are still waiting for replies from previous applications for more speed bumps on the main road through the urbanisation. Anna Rosa will apply again.

Jeff requested we confirm the days for the “Green “ collection. as still being Monday and Thursday.

Anna Rosa to prepare the quarterly budget sheet for the next meeting.

Street lights

Stefan to contact Espinosa again with regard to faulty street lights on the main road and two private roads.

Planters.

Chris asked so see the letter from the council which stated that we had to remove the planters from the pavement and asked if we could appeal or have a re-assessment of the situation. Stefan produced the letter which Anna Rosa received from City Hall, stating that the planters must be removed from the main road within an allotted time scale or the council would move them and charge the urbanisation with the full costs.

(The administrator resubmitted the application earlier this year. No response has been received to date)

Graffiti.

The electricity box at the lower end of the main road will be painted over once the cable trench in front of it has been completed and filled in. This is an Iberdrola matter. Stefan will ask how long this will take.

Trench opposite house no 58.

For several weeks, a trench dug partly on the main road and partly on a private street, has been left unfinished. Anna Rosa to report it.

Dream Hills 2.

Stefan stated that the through roads to Dream Hills 2 will possibly be the roads which have the council main road street lights.

If Stefan is not available at any time, please contact Tid or one of the other vice-presidents.

Chris will head an environmental team to report to the committee. The names of his team to be given to the committee when this is organised.

Stefan will resume his surgeries in September. Please check the notice board for dates.
