MEETING OF DREAM HILLS URBANISATION COMMITTEE HELD AT
LA CASITA, FRIDAY 27th MAY 2005, 11.00
a.m.
Present: Stefan, Christine, Angela, Chris, Mags, Linda, Jeff,
Tid, Mick.
Apologies: Gerry, Peter.
The minutes of the previous meeting
were agreed.
MATTERS ARISING:
- A.G.M.:
Format and presentation of A.G.M. to be analysed so that improvements and
efficiencies can be introduced next year.
- Aqua Aerobics: Suggested one day a week in pool, say 10.00 – 11.00a.m. More information required on
Liability, Insurance Cover, First Aid, etc. Deferred until next meeting.
- Toilet access for pool-users at Casita: Although again discussed at length, no
satisfactory solution was reached.
The presence of classes, book-swap and other activities make
matters more difficult. The
toilet in the Casita will not be available for pool-users this
summer. Problems of
supervision, cleaning and access control, together with the disruption of
classes and other regular activities create too many problems.
- Graffiti: Stefan to contact Ibedrola or others to request repainting of
their utility box at the lower entrance to Dream Hills.
- Budgets: Half-yearly maintenance charge will be Euro89.02. This comprises the normal running
costs of Euro72.41 plus the new Security and Plinth expenditure together
with a 5% Reserve Fund charge (a legal requirement).
- Rubbish Bins & Eco Park: Address and telephone number of Eco Park to be put on web-site and
notice boards to encourage residents to use the facility. Green rubbish should be placed next
to, not in, the bins. Disposal
of plastic and glass is carried out by two different companies, the glass
collection company being the more efficient.
- Motorbikes: Police have responded quickly to two calls relating to problems
around the pool areas. Similar
problems are best addressed by calling the Local Police on 649900304. It is illegal to use the small
motorised scooters on public streets/roads, for which the min. operator
age is 14.
- Denuncias: Stefan took the
committee through the completion of sample forms. He will also provide a Spanish
translation for a range of common complaints (i.e. noise, ugly neighbours
etc!) during his regular surgeries.
- Land between Pools: This land is owned by the City Hall. Local youths canvassed stated that
they would like a small football pitch there. City Hall to be contacted re
usage. It may need a community
effort to clean area.
AOB:
- Pool Maintenance: The pools and enclosed areas are not being
properly maintained. The pools
are dirty and some of the trees have died due to neglect. The maintenance firm will be
written to and warned that unless matters improve significantly, the
contract will be cancelled.
- Security Guards: This year security guards will man the pool areas
and will open and close the pools daily. Also the new Urbanisation security
guards will commence patrolling in June. Format for the reporting
of security incidents will be advised when agreed.
- Outgoing Post Box: Already applied for, to be chased up.
- Pool Auto Cards: Carlos Pulido, the swipe card technician, can
be contacted on 965328562 or mobile 677211020. Please remember that he can
only adjust, fix and restart cards at his premises.
- Proposed new gate opposite Via Park V: A number of letters were received by the
President objecting to the proposed usage of the new gate. There were also representations
against it at his surgery on May 28th. It now appears that pedestrian
access may be restricted, which was not what was agreed at the A.G.M. More
details required before matter can be addressed.
