MINUTES OF DREAM HILLS URBANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT LA CASITA, 20th DECEMBER 2008 NOON.
Present: Maribel Morales, Jan Rennison, Tid Clifford, Mags Harris, John Sinclair, John Kerr, Jenny McCadden, Lowri Mitchell & Alwyn Rozenek (Secretary).
Apologies: Rafael Barcelo Martin
1. The minutes of the meeting held on 08th November 2008 were approved.
2. Grill – Casita toilet door has been fitted and Marjory Norris presented the 50% share from the Casita fund towards the costs at the beginning of the meeting.
3. Street cleaning. Since the last committee meeting, there have been no written comments or complaints received from residents. As such, the current situation will continue to be monitored closely and in the New Year new quotes will be obtained to see if we can achieve some cost savings.
4. Parking in the new phase. The President and committee discussed at length the lack of progress in trying to resolve the parking situation between Inspiration Urb and Dream Hills bungalows. This problem has arisen because the Inspiration president has made their own road a no-parking road, encouraging their residents to park in our already overcrowded private road. Having waited for the return of the Inspiration President from a lengthy summer break, he has completely ignored all attempts to discuss the matter, which has prompted all the Inspiration residents who had originally voluntarily removed their cars, to return them to this Dream Hills road. The administrators for Inspiration Urb acknowledge that it is a private road but have no influence if the President chooses to ignore it. Having made every attempt to resolve this problem amicably, Maribel is to consult with our lawyer to see what we can do within the law to get these cars parked elsewhere. As we have mentioned before, ideally a yellow no-parking line painted on the Inspiration side of the road, which Dream Hills residents would be expected to respect, would enable access for all emergency services which at present is impossible. Unfortunately a few misguided Dream Hills residents are making matters worse by parking on the Inspiration side of the road in support of their friends in Inspiration. We will have to wait to hear what our Lawyer proposes before considering other options.
5. New Address System. Maribel will request a list from the Town Hall to confirm which properties belong to which Phase (from 1-9). This will be posted by the post boxes and on all three notice boards as well as in the January minutes.
Any other business
- The date for the AGM will be advised as soon as it has been confirmed; this usually is decided in February and is put in the minutes.
- Residents need to be made aware of the Spanish TV Digital changeover which has been an ongoing process since 2006, but has not been addressed by previous committees. From April 2009 a reduction in the current analogue signal will be experienced in many areas, some viewers of Spanish TV may already be getting bad reception. No monies were made available in previous years to deal with this compulsory change, so it has come down to this committee to have to inform you all that in 2009 all the main analogue aerials have to be replaced by digital ones by April 2010 when a total shut-down of the analogue system occurs. This involves a one-off payment per household which has to be added to the next years Urbanisation fee. Whether we like it or not this is not an option, it is in compliance with Spanish Law. A full explanatory notice will be available in the new year put in every post box.
- Speed limits on the private roads were discussed. If you have any suggestions on the matter please speak to your committee representative.
The meeting closed at 13.40 hrs.
Next surgeries: Saturday 27th December 2008 and Saturday 07th February 2009, La Casita at 12 noon.
Next committee meeting: Saturday 31st January 2009.
