Minutes of Dream Hills Committee Meeting at La Casita 1030 hrs, on 18th April 2009
Present: Tid Clifford, John Kerr, Mags Harris, Lowri Mitchell, Jan Rennisson,
Jenny McCadden and John Sinclair.
Apologies: Maribel Jimenez Morales.
Matters arising.
1) We are still awaiting a reply from the town hall regarding our letter requesting the lowering of the speed limit on the main public road through the urbanisation to 30 kilometres p.h.
2) We are aware that the urbanisation is short of rubbish bins, although requests have been made to replace the missing ones. As mentioned in the January minutes, SIFU will be taking over the rubbish collection contract for Orihuela Costa in May. Then we expect to be issued with larger and better bins.
3) There have been several reports of groups of young people playing ball games in the pool area disregarding the pool rules. Unsupervised and underage, these children are vandalizing our facilities and are causing unnecessary costs for repairs. In the last week alone in the bottom pool, signs have been ripped out of the wall, a bench was broken and objects thrown into the pool. This is not just a problem for the committee but every owner. When you see these children misbehaving let them know. If possible identify them to the committee, so that action can be taken against their parents. But do not ignore it and then complain later. We need to stop this bad behaviour now!
4) The handyman has been trying to repair the sign pillars in the bungalow area for some weeks. He has had to delay these repairs because of the amount of time he has had to devote to replacing and repairing damage done by these youths and children, before he can carry out his regular duties. Hopefully he will be able to render and re-surface these pillars soon.
5) Two broken metal covers in the pavement area by the post boxes (old phase) have now been replaced.
6) The company hired to spray for cockroaches has been recalled to sprays areas that were missed.
7) A committee meeting was held at the end of March solely to discuss and agree the content of the AGM invite package, which you should all have by now. Anyone who has not as yet received their AGM letters for this year, please contact your committee member or Tid Clifford at no 586 or you can email her at tidclifford@gmail.com and a replacement will be issued. We can then check your postal address against the records at Administration. It has come to our notice that many of your records do not include a UK post code and this may be contributing to a delay in your post getting to you as quickly as it should. This we hope can be addressed with your help to improve the service in the future.
8) The AGM is on Wednesday 6th May at the Montepeirdra Restaurant, at 10.30 in the first assembly. Should you be unable to attend you can post, fax, or hand in your vote at the administrators offices in Torrevieja. You may also hand your vote in a sealed envelope to a committee member, signing your name across the seal of the envelope. An e-mail vote is not acceptable under Spanish law.
This is the final committee minutes for the year 2008/2009. We hope that as many of you as possible attend the AGM again this year. Even if you are perfectly happy with things on the urbanisation, it is very important that you use your vote. The outgoing committee would like to thank the owners for their assistance and contribution during the last year.
Meeting ended at 1120 hrs.
