MEETING OF DREAM HILLS COMMUNITY COMMITTEE ON

5 JULY 2004, AT THE COMMUNITY CENTRE.

Present:                 Stefan, Bill, Roger, Mags, Linda, Christine, Peter Christopher, Kath       Apology:  Gerry

1.

Swimming Pools Areas – Fencing has been ordered and should be in situ by the end of July.  Stefan will speak again to the maintenance company regarding the broken/damaged irrigation pipework, and the trees will be surrounded by low, wooden blocks.

2.

Via Park V – Ana-Rosa (our Administrator) has raised a Denuncia on behalf of the urbanisation as a whole, and many residents have raised personal Denuncias against the proposed plan for the commercial area.  Ana-Rosa and Stefan will meet with Rosa from the Town Hall (awaiting an appointment) to obtain full information from the department responsible for checking and approving building plans.  If necessary, the matter will be referred to the Authorities in Valencia.

3.

Via Park III – The President of urbanisation Villas del Duque has decided to obtain a further quote for fencing in this area but it has not yet materialised.   If it is not received within one week, Stefan will go ahead and order from our own quote.

4.

Land owned by the Town Hall (adjacent to the first road on the right hand side of Dream Hills from Via Park III end)  – Fencing with green screeding will be erected between Dream Hills and this land.

Christine (No. 133)

Mags (No. 269)

Linda (No. 303)

Gerry (No. 327)

Bill (No. 571)

Residents should address urbanisation problems to their designated committee member.

7.

Sewerage problems – These have been experienced in two or three areas recently and appear to have been caused by builders’ rubbish blocking the pipes and also babies disposable nappies, wipes, etc., being flushed down the toilets.  The sewerage system here is not as efficient as that in the UK and anything other than toilet paper should be should be disposed of IN SEALED BAGS in refuse bins.

Stefan has also requested that all plastic drainage covers be replaced with metal covers.  The company will identify and replace the broken ones and Stefan will get a list afterwards with the house numbers where the covers have been replaced.

8.

Childrens playground – The swings will be installed when the playground, petanca courts and community centre are officially opened.  We have to wait for the City Hall to arrange for this to be done;  we have to wait for their decision as to when this will take place.  A separate meeting will take place in September to discuss how the community centre can be used by residents/owners.

9.

Commercial Vehicles – There are many commercial vehicles parking in the private roads, and causing obstruction and inconvenience to their neighbours.  Rule 5 of the Urbanisation Rules states that private cars should be parked in owners driveways wherever possible.  However, commercial vehicles should be parked on the MAIN ROAD, taking care not to obstruct private roads and gateways to houses fronting the main road.

10.

President’s ‘Surgery’ – This was held on 19 June and the problems raised have been addressed.

11.

‘DREAM HILLS’ direction sign has been removed from the San Miguel road.  Stefan will ask Azul to replace it, including the street name – ‘CALLE LAGUNAS DE RUIDERAS’.  He will also approach the owners of the houses at both ends of the urbanisation with a view to placing ceramic tiling announcing ‘URBANISATION DREAM HILLS’ and a small map of the urbanisation – including house  numbers..  If they do not agree, plinths could be used.  Further ceramic signs with the main street name will be ordered (maybe six), and also signs showing the house numbers in that street, eg: Nos. 569 – 588.

12.

Kath undertook to follow up with Jan, Chairperson of NHW, the provision of a cupboard for the community centre.

NEXT MEETING – Friday, 10 September 2004, in the community centre at 09.30 hrs.
