2. Security.  Having compared the quotations and the level of professionalism of three companies, Praetorian Guard were selected and invited to address the meeting and discuss the requirements of the urbanisation.  We believe that owners will be impressed by the professionalism and commitment of these guards. They are all ex-services and police, trained in First Aid etc and have a good relationship with the Policia and Guardia Civil together with Neighbourhood Watch groups.  They currently provide security services to some 13 urbanisations in the Costa area.  The permanent key security officer for our urbanisation was introduced to the committee.  A dedicated emergency mobile telephone number will be issued in due course.  Its use will be monitored but the service will be withdrawn if it is abused.   The committee secured a significantly better deal for the urbanisation following further negotiations with Praetorian and the company is scheduled to commence their contract for the urbanisation on the 15th June 2008.  Certain specific security details will not appear in the minutes or on the web-site, as these forms of communication are in the public domain.  However, the relevant specific details will be communicated to owners in due course.

3. Signs.  Maribel has ordered 2 signs at a total cost of 29.80 € + IVA for the swimming pools in white and red stating  PRIVATE PROPERTY RESIDENTS ONLY in both Spanish and English. By displaying these signs the police can be called for troublemakers and trespassers.

4. Pool Attendants.  Two uniformed pool attendants will commence their duties on the 15th June 08. They will work 7 days a week. One will work 11am to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm and the other 11am to 7pm.  They will both be issued with laminated copies of the pool rules and expected to enforce them. Their performance will regularly be monitored by the committee.

5. Cockroaches.  The cockroach-spraying of the drains in the private roads will commence shortly.  The administrator has instructed the company on our behalf.  The main road drains have already been dealt with.

6.  The telephone box-cover near house no. 383 will be replaced by the electricians.

7. Vandalism.  John Kerr, committee vice-president, reported that two tyres on his Picasso car were slashed at night, while parked outside of his house recently. Coincidentally the tyres of a similar Picasso car a few doors up were also slashed. We are asking you all to be extremely vigilant and observant in your neighbourhood as this type of behaviour is unacceptable in any community.

8. We would like to mention that the Spanish people find it extremely rude for persons to enter their property to retrieve footballs etc., without their permission and regard it as trespass.  Please show consideration and restraint while in their country.

9. The committee are in the process of compiling an information booklet for every house and bungalow on the urbanisation. This will provide you with much of the relevant information you may need for living in this urbanisation. We will be giving you updates and changes to this booklet on a regular basis. Collating this information, which will be produced in Spanish and English, takes time because of its comprehensive and changing nature.  However it is hoped to have the booklet distributed to all within the next few weeks.

Meeting ended at 10.15pm.

Next meeting – Saturday 28th  June, 12 midday.
